Summary:
On February 21, 2021, at approximately 2115 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 calls reporting an armed robbery at the location. Additional information was obtained regarding the clerk / owner, an adult male, suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. Officers arrived on scene and began emergency life saving measures. Unfortunately, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics. The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time, pending family notification(s), and pending the investigation by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

The Cathedral City Police Department Detectives are actively working leads in this case and have been provided information being circulated throughout social media. All information is being sorted through and validated for its authenticity and validity to this investigation.
It is believed the male suspect, armed with a handgun, fatally shot the victim for an unknown reason prior to fleeing the business. (Photo of suspect attached)
