Synopsis of Incident

On September 2, 2021, at 8:07 p.m., CCPD Officers and CCFD Firefighters were dispatched to an injury collision involving a truck and a pedestrian on Ramon Road, just east of Landau Blvd. CCPD and CCFD responded immediately and arrived on scene moments later. Upon the arrival of CCPD and CCFD, an unconscious male was located in the westbound lanes of Ramon Road. The male had serious injuries to his head and body. He was immediately transported to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment by CCFD. The male was identified as a 44-year-old Cathedral City resident. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family. The male at the time of this press release is in critical condition at Desert Regional Medical Center.

The investigation revealed the male was struck by an older model Dodge Ram crew cab truck. An image is included below. After the collision, the driver of the truck surveyed the scene on foot. He then returned to his truck and fled. An image of the driver is also included below. At this time the driver and vehicle have not been located. Cathedral City Police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating the driver and vehicle involved in this injury collision.
