Summary:

On March 4, 2022 at about 1:50PM, Cathedral City Police Officers responded to the area of Varner Road, West of Bob Hope Drive regarding a single vehicle rollover. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had overturned and a female driver who had been ejected from the vehicle on the ground. The female was suffering from moderate injuries. Also located in the vehicle, was a 2 YO toddler who was secured in a car seat.

Cathedral City Fire Department responded and transported the female to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. Due to the nature of the collision, paramedics requested the assistance of Mercy Air ambulance to transport the toddler. The toddler, who did not appear injured, was flown to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley for evaluation.

While investigating the collision, witnesses identified another vehicle who was involved and determined this collision was a result of road rage. The parties in the other vehicle were not injured.
At this time officers are still conducting their investigation and will determine the appropriate charges at the conclusion of this investigation.
