Synopsis of Incident:

On March 3, 2022, at approximately 0145 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a 911 telephone call of an assault in progress located in the 67500 block of Quijo Rd, Cathedral City. Once Officers arrived on scene, they were able to safely remove two elderly victims from the inside of the residence. Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and transported one of the victims to an area hospital where they are being treated for multiple injuries.

The suspect, Warren O’Sullivan, barricaded himself inside the residence. Desert Regional SWAT Team was activated and responded to the scene. After several hours, Thomas O’Sullivan surrendered. The scene was secured and at this time, the circumstances surrounding the assault are being investigated by the Cathedral City Police Detectives.

Warren O’Sullivan was arrested and transported to the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, where he was booked on the following charges:

368(b)(1)PC: Felony elder abuse
245(a)(1) PC: Assault with a deadly weapon.
422(a)PC: Threats to terrorize against victim

O’Sullivan is also being held on an enhanced bail of $1,000,000.00 (one million dollars). No further information is available at this time.
