Solomon Patrick

On Sunday, July 2, 2017, at approximately 3:24 p.m., Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a call of a gunshot victim near the 68000 block of Tachevah Road. When officers arrived, they saw a male lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds. The Cathedral City Fire Department also responded and rendered medical aid but were unsuccessful with life saving measures. The victim, later identified as Solomon Patrick (pictured above), was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cathedral City Police Detectives responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.  The incident stemmed from an altercation that took place on El Canto Road, at a house party earlier that night. Police were called to the scene and broke it up.

Approximately one hour later, Patrick, a group of his friends, and ultimately the suspect(s) responded to the location on Tachevah Drive where the altercation continued. Several gun shots were fired at the victim and the suspect(s) fled the location prior to the officer’s arrival.  Several witnesses were interviewed; however, they were not able to identify the shooter in this incident.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. The public is encouraged to call the Cathedral City Police Department with any information regarding this case at (760) 770-0300 or by email at tips@cathedralcity.gov.
