Synopsis of Incident
On Saturday 9/15/18 at 0346 hrs., Cathedral City Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Date Palm Drive, north of State Interstate 10 regarding a traffic collision. Officers arrived and started investigating a single vehicle “roll-over” traffic collision. Cathedral City Fire Paramedics arrived to assist other injured parties involved in the collision. At this time, one fatality has been reported form this collision, which upon preliminary investigation has been determined to be DUI -related.
The Cathedral City Police Department wants to remind the Community of the dangers of drinking and driving, which remains a deadly hazard for all who share our roadways. Don’t drink and drive.

Police activity in the area will continue through the afternoon as a traffic accident investigation is being completed by the Cathedral City Police Department. At this time, Date Palm Drive is closed north of IS-10. It is also closed at the Varner Road intersection. Varner road is completely open and unaffected.
