On 05-15-2022 at approximately 0118 hours, Cathedral City Police officers responded to a hit and run traffic crash involving a motorcycle vs. pick-up truck. The traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Ramon Road/Crossley Road.

Officers arrived and found the male driver and female passenger of the motorcycle on the roadway with major injuries. Both driver and passenger were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where the driver later succumbed to his injuries. The female passenger was last listed as being in stable but critical condition. The driver of the pick-up truck fled the scene and was last seen driving westbound on Ramon Road. The roadway was closed for a few hours while CCPD completed their initial investigation. The roadway was reopened at approximately 0300 hrs.

It appears the driver of the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Ramon Road approaching the Ramon Road/Crossley Road intersection when the pick-up truck that was traveling eastbound on Ramon Road, made a north turn onto Crossley and crashed into the motorcycle. Evidence was left behind allowing Officers to identify the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing with identifying the driver of the pick-up truck.
