On the afternoon of 3-3-19, Cathedral City Police Department was notified about a social-media post involving a possible threat / potential incident at the Cathedral City High School.  Following the protocols outlined in the Riverside County School Threat Assessment and Response, officers immediately began to investigate the threat.  With the assistance of PSUSD Security, officers identified the student at the center of the “threat”, and after a search of the family’s house no evidence was found to support the student made any credible threats toward the school.  The student and family were both cooperative during the investigation.

At this time investigators have confirmed there are no credible threats to any of the schools in the City of Cathedral City.

Police presence in and around the schools will be increased this morning as an added precaution.
