Summary:
On February 11, 2021, at approximately 0710 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting gunfire heard in the area of 67800 block of Carroll Drive. Police were dispatched and arrived within minutes of the initial call. Police located evidence of a shooting and a 38-year-old male suffering from two gunshot wounds. The male was transported by Cathedral City Fire Department to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. Cathedral City Police searched the area and found no additional victims. Cathedral City Detectives were called to the scene and are currently working this active investigation. Police officers processed the crime scene to collect evidence to assist in identifying a/the suspect(s). At this time, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are undetermined and it is being investigated by the Cathedral City Police Department (Detective Bureau). The area of 67800 Carroll Drive is no longer close and is open to regular vehicular traffic.
