Synopsis of Incident:
On September 15, 2022, at approximately 1430 hours, Cathedral City Police Department received information reference a false impersonation. An unknown suspect has been calling residents, falsely impersonating a police officer/ or public official for Cathedral City Police Department. This unknown suspect has been requesting money from the victims to clear up a “traffic fine”, a “Gag order” or “Criminal matter”.
The Cathedral City Police Department does not actively solicit funds from the public to clear up any legal matters. If you have been, or are contacted by this person, please do not pay any money to them, or provide him any personal information.
